Happy Top Ten Tuesday everyone! This week’s theme, hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl, is Books I’d Want With Me While Stranded On a Deserted Island.
Hello my friends! I have been a little MIA the past two weeks as I have been travelling a bit and my blogging got lost in the craziness. But I’m back with this week’s Top 10 Tuesday: Books I Could Have Read in One Sitting. It is pretty rare for me to ACTUALLY finish a book in one sitting, but these are the 10 books that I either read in one day, almost read in one day.
A Cinderella story with deadly stakes and thrilling twists.
Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why–or even who Tobias Hawthorne is. To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man’s touch–and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes.
Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a con-woman, and he’s determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather’s last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.
Santorini felt like an island holding its breath. As if it were keeping in a secret…
Liv Varanakis doesnāt like to think about her father much, which makes senseāhe fled to Greece when she was only eight, leaving her with just a few painful memories of their shared love for the lost city of Atlantis. So when teenage Liv suddenly receives a postcard from her father, who explains that National Geographic is supporting a documentary about his theories on Atlantisāand asks if she will fly out to Greece and helpāLiv is less than thrilled.
When she arrives in gorgeous Santorini, things are just as awkward as she’d imagined. There are so many questions, so many emotions that flood to the surface after seeing her father for the first time in years. Liv doesnāt want to get sucked back into her father’s world. She also definitely doesnāt want Theo, her fatherās charismatic so-called protĆ©gĆ©, to witness her struggle.
Even so, she can’t help but be charmed by everything Santorini has to offerāthe beautiful sunsets, the turquoise water, the sun-drenched villages, and the delicious cuisine. But not everything on the Greek island is as perfect as it seems. Because as Liv slowly begins to discover, her father may not have invited her to Greece for Atlantis, but for something much more important.
In an unforgettable novel that traces a centuries-old curse to its source, beloved author Alice Hoffman unveils the story of Maria Owens, accused of witchcraft in Salem, and matriarch of a line of the amazing Owens women and men featured in Practical Magic and The Rules of Magic.
Where does the story of the Owens bloodline begin? With Maria Owens, in the 1600s, when sheās abandoned in a snowy field in rural England as a baby. Under the care of Hannah Owens, Maria learns about the āNameless Arts.ā Hannah recognizes that Maria has a gift and she teaches the girl all she knows. It is here that she learns her first important lesson: Always love someone who will love you back.
When Maria is abandoned by the man who has declared his love for her, she follows him to Salem, Massachusetts. Here she invokes the curse that will haunt her family. And itās here that she learns the rules of magic and the lesson that she will carry with her for the rest of her life. Love is the only thing that matters.
Magic LessonsĀ is a celebration of life and love and a showcase of Alice Hoffmanās masterful storytelling.
For years, rumors of the āMarsh Girlā haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet fishing village. Kya Clark is barefoot and wild; unfit for polite society. So in late 1969, when the popular Chase Andrews is found dead, locals immediately suspect her.
But Kya is not what they say. A born naturalist with just one day of school, she takes life’s lessons from the land, learning the real ways of the world from the dishonest signals of fireflies. But while she has the skills to live in solitude forever, the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. Drawn to two young men from town, who are each intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new and startling worldāuntil the unthinkable happens.
In Where the Crawdads Sing, Owens juxtaposes an exquisite ode to the natural world against a profound coming of age story and haunting mystery. Thought-provoking, wise, and deeply moving, Owensās debut novel reminds us that we are forever shaped by the child within us, while also subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.
The story asks how isolation influences the behavior of a young woman, who like all of us, has the genetic propensity to belong to a group. The clues to the mystery are brushed into the lush habitat and natural histories of its wild creatures.

This book made me want more clever fairy tale retellings!
I’ve always been drawn to Ireland, but this series really drew me in even more. I knew nothing about Irish history and this book was both enlightening and full of juicy family saga drama.
Give me more ballet drama please!!
I’m not normally a mystery reader, but I loved this book and it makes me want to get more into the genre!
I could not put this book down and it made me want more greek mythology!
Modern day royals. Give it to me.

Hello everyone! Here we are with another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s Topic is My Ten Most Recent Reads.
I just finished this book last night and I absolutely LOVED it. It was so cute, full of butterfly-inducing moments, and the main character was so relatable.
I’m obsessed with these characters and this world, and I was UNBELIEVABLY happy to find out this wasn’t the last book!
This book made me feel super conflicted because I really didn’t like the heroine, but I was still somehow super invested in her journey.
I love rereading this series. It didn’t pack as much of a punch as I remembered, but I think it is because the reveal of Jacob being a werewolf was already known to me.
I had a lot of excitement about this book, but unfortunately it fell flat for me as I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters.
This book really surprised me and is one of my favorite fairytale retellings that I have read.
One of my all time favorite trilogies.
I really love these characters. This one wasn’t AS good as Fable, but it was still really enjoyable and I loved being back in this world.
This was a beautiful, funny, and heart-warming story about grief, family, and figuring out who you are. I loved the writing and immediately looked up other works by this author.
I’m a huge Sophie Gonzales fan and Perfect On Paper was really good and included some really important representation.
Hello everyone! We’re back with another Top 10 Tuesday, hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl. I messed up the topic 2 weeks ago and did last week’s on accident, so I took a week off and now I’m back on track! This week’s topic is Colorful Book Covers!
Happy Top Ten Tuesday everyone! I took 2 weeks off, somewhat unintentionally, and gave myself a little spring break from blogging, but I’m coming back to you with a silly Top Ten Tuesday, hosted over at That Artsy Reader Girl, Book Titles That Sound Like They Could Be Crayola Crayons.
I picture this to be a bright and shiny red.
This one is obviously a super metallic gold.
I think this one is a deep teal.
Despite my instinct to say red because of the book over, Twilight is probably a dusty purple-blue.
Black. That’s it.
This would be one of those glitter crayons, ya know? Probably a black or deep navy with silver glitter.
A nice peachy-pink. A perfect color to use for blush. (am I the only one who colors make-up on my people when I use a coloring book?)
Ummmm… this one is kinda self explanatory.
A deep deep purple.
A pearlescent white.
I am so happy that Spring is on its way! It brings a fresh hope with its sunshine and warmth along with some exciting new releases! This week’s topic, hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl, is Books On My Spring 2021 TBR.
