Top 10 Tuesday: Favorite Book to Screen Adaptations

I’m coming to you on this lovely Tuesday from Alto, New Mexico to bring you this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, which is a Book to Screen Freebie!  I have decided to do my Top Ten Favorite Book to Screen Adaptations.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

I loved both the book and the movie of this one, and dare I say, I think I even liked the movie better! The acting is just so incredible.

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

One of my all time favorite book series, I can’t help but love the original movie as well.  They changed quite a bit, but I understand why and I still think it is a well-done adaptation.

The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

Another one where I actually think I liked the movie better… I mean…. It’s Meryl.

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

I think the movies are SO incredibly well done, and I love how much more vivid the romances are in the films.

Matilda by Roald Dahl

One of my favorite childhood books and movies.

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

I mean.  It’s just the best.  I only read the first 2 books and have watched the whole series, and I know a lot changes, but I still think it’s incredible.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I really think this series did a great job with the movie adaptations.  Especially the first two.

Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman

I saw the movie before I read the book on this one, and I love the movie.  I actually don’t love the book as much, and I really enjoyed the changes they made for the film.  However; the prequel book, The Rules of Magic, is one of my all-time favorite books now.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

This book made me fall in love with Jane Austen, and the film made me fall in love with the story and characters even more.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

Do I even need to explain myself?

What are your favorite book to movie adaptations? Let me know in the comments! ❤

  1. I agree with all of these! Matilda was done so well and I love both the book and the film equally as much. Same with HP I like both for different reasons but they still both hold a special place in my heart!💛
