The fabulous Organgutan Librarian tagged me in her new Emperor’s New Clothes Tag, and I am excited to share my answers! Here we go!
“Your majesty, this is a magic suit!”– An over-hyped book that promised to be *something more*:
I was so excited about this book, and I was very underwhelmed. I still plan on continuing the series, but it keeps getting pushed farther down the TBR list. You can see my full review here.
“Somebody send for the queen!”– A love interest that wasn’t called for:
Quinn from The Sookie Stackhouse novels was pretty insignificant. I liked him, but meh. He was cut out of the Trueblood TV show for a reason.
“The doublet is a lovely shade of green”– A book that seduced you with its cover (that you ended up disliking):
Witches in France?! Count me in! Unfortunately, the story inside this beautiful cover did not live up to expectations
“Summon the court to convene”– A book where you were swayed by public opinion:
I read this book because everyone was talking and raving about it. I thought it was pretty good, didn’t die for it, but I jumped on the band wagon anyway. The second book though, made me obsessed.
“Look at the king! Look at the king, the king, the king!”– A stark raving mad book that just boggles the mind:
This book was crazy. There was hardly any forward moving plot that made sense. So boring.
“It’s altogether the very least the king has ever worn”– A tropey get-up you’ve seen before that probably needs redressing (AKA a trope you’re bored with seeing):
Enough said.
“Summon the court physician! Call an intermission!”– A book that needs medical attention (AKA a rewrite):
I LOVED the first two books in this trilogy, and I loved this one until the end. WHO ENDS A TRILOGY LIKE THIS!? WHY!?
“It’s altogether the very least the king has ever worn”– There’s no hiding this one: A book that is just nakedly bad:
So bad. How I got through this book I will never know.

Hi Reading! That dystopian YA comic is too funny! And while I don’t hate dystopian it is rather true of all the knock offs! Also I also fell for the hype of ACOTAR and I’m hoping I become obsessed with book 2 (surely there is more Rhysand!) ♥️

Hi! I laugh every time I read it! and even though it’s true, it won’t stop me from reading YA dystopian/fantasy novels 😀 and you will LOVE book 2. It blows ACOTAR out of the water in my opinion! Happy reading!!

You should read it! I was so in love with the first two books. The end is really disappointing, but I still liked the series as a whole.
